1Lewis Barbe - Ergonomics Standards
Lewis Barbe is a Board certified safety engineer
and engineering consultant. He has many years of
experience with ergonomics and is the author of
the American Society of Testing Materials
Ergonomic standards. He has worked in Safety
Engineering and Management positions at
Westinghouse Electric. He is a member of the
Society of Automotive Engineers, and one of two
engineers appointed to be United States
representatives to ISO/TC159 Safety Data for
Human Machine Interactions committee.
2Lewis Barbe - ANSI Member
Lewis Barbe is a Board certified engineer with
many years of work experience. He has worked at
major corporations and at smaller companies, and
has provided his services as an expert witness in
engineering and safety matters for numerous
trials and other legal proceedings. He has been a
member of the American Society of Testing
Materials for more than twenty-five years. He is
also a member of the Society of Automotive
Engineers, which presented him with its Service
Award for twenty years of contributions.
3Lewis Barbe - Professional Engineer
Lewis Barbe is a professional engineer living in
Minnesota. He is Certified as a Safety Engineer,
and a is longtime member of the American National
Standards Institute, which oversees the
development of standards for products and
services in the United States. He holds a
Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection
Engineering and Safety Engineering from the
Illinois Institute of Technology. Lewis Barbe is
a Certified Safety Engineer who received his
education at the Illinois Institute of
Technology, the University of Iowa, and Penn
State. He works for the Occupational Safety and
Health Services, Inc as its Director of
Engineering, and has also worked for American
Hoist and Derrick and Westinghouse Electric as
Manager of Accident Prevention.
4Lewis Barbe - Emeritus Status
Lewis Barbe is a certified safety engineer and a
member of numerous professional engineering
associations. He belongs to the American Society
of Safety Engineers, the Canadian Society of
Safety Engineers, and the System Safety Society,
among many others. He has worked for Westinghouse
Electric in Safety Engineering and Management
positions, and has a background in design and
product engineering management. He recently
received Emeritus status with the Human Factors
and Ergonomics Society.
