line of bookbinding machines include case-making,
fan binding, paper cutting and trimming, hot foil
stamping and gluing machines. With over 20 years
experience, Mechling also provides printing, hard
binding and soft binding services to authors,
publishers and printers, nationwide.

Welcome to Mechling Bookbindery Bookbinders
Workshop! Al and Marla Mechlings passion for
researching their family history led to
collecting and rebinding old county histories,
which developed into a garage-based rebinding
business in 1995. Their new-found company,
Mechling Bookbindery, quickly outgrew its
boundaries and was moved to a full-scale
manufacturing and shipping facility. For the past
two decades, the company has been providing book
printing, bookbinding and book restoration
services. The Mechlings acquired Bookbinders
Workshop in 2013, moving it from New York City to
Chicora, Pennsylvania. The list of services and
products expanded to include high quality
leathers, bookbinding supplies and tools, and
training videos for the bookbinding trade.
Together both companies now operate from one
distribution center, which is able to accommodate
unlimited growth and increased service and
selection of goods for their customers. WHY
