3- Description
- This webinar will detail
coding guidelines and conventions related to code
assignment for injuries. The International
Classification of Diseases is a healthcare
nomenclature used to assign numerical codes to
descriptions of diagnoses, conditions and
administrative circumstances for which
individuals seek medical care or evaluation.
Currently, the ninth revision, clinical
modification or ICD-9-CM is used in the United
States. However, ICD-10-CM/PCS implementation is
currently set for a 10-1-2015 compliance date.
From this webinar not only will participants
learn about the intricacies of ICD-10, the
differences and similarities between ICD-9 and
ICD-10 but also strategies to assist with
compliance will be covered. Additionally, a few
scenarios will be presented along with the proper
code assignment for ICD-10-CM.
