2The Spanish Institute of Puebla is a well
established Spanish Language School, with 30
years of experience, a proven methodology and a
great atmosphere for learning Spanish. You will
live the Spanish language and culture up to 16
hours a day. All our professors have college
degrees and a vast teaching Spanish as a Second
Language experience. Our classrooms have
ergonomic chairs and ample desk space for
comfortable learning.
3Our goal is to help you communicate in Spanish.
There are four areas of communication listening,
speaking, reading, and writing. In our program we
consider all four areas. Because we have an
emphasis in Spanish conversation even our group
program includes two hours of individual
conversation to get your conversation skills up
as quick as possible.
Our standard program has eight levels from
Beginner to close to Native Speaker. You can
specify which level you would like to enter or
you can take our placement exam (The result of
this exam is approximate) which will determine
which level to start at.
4Our home stay program is a very important part of
your overall language experience. You will stay
with a host family, unless you request
differently in which case we will work with you
to find adequate hotel accommodations. Our host
families are carefully screened to have a very
helpful attitude towards students. We have also
selected homes that offer a level of comfort not
too far from what you are used to finding in your
home country.
Our selection process assures that all our
students will have a comfortable and pleasant
stay in Puebla. Although our host families
receive a compensation to provide you a home,
they do enjoy having a foreign student as a guest.

6In a broad, high valley about 60 miles southeast
of Mexico City is a city known by many names over
the years City of Angels, City of Tiles, Heroic
City of Zaragoza. Today we know it simply as
Puebla.
Established by the Spanish in 1531 on the main
route between the port of Veracruz (the most
important port in Mexico) and Mexico City, Puebla
was the principal city of Colonial Mexico.
Puebla's appearance is the most European of all
the Colonial cities, because it was planned from
the ground up by a Spanish city designer rather
than being built within an existing Indian
community.
