• Unemployment Benefits are usually given for a
  period of 26 weeks. If the claimant has not found
  suitable job in that timeframe, benefits can be
  extended using any of the following two programs
• Emergency Unemployment Compensation
• Extended Benefits

• Step 1
• Find out whether your state unemployment office
  allows extended UC.
• When benefits are about to expire, you will be
  notified about it through mail. The same mail
  should contain details about how benefits can be
  extended.

  program.
• A claimant must continue to meet initial
  eligibility requirements to receive extended
  benefits.
