The Role of Hydraulic Design Engineers

Description:

A hydraulic engineer determines and plans the plumbing and hydraulic and plumbic design of a project, be it a housing project or a commercial project. The hydraulic design encompasses a number of fields including the treatment of industrial wastes and sewerage, storm water drainage, Natural Gas and LP Gas services etc. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

Title: The Role of Hydraulic Design Engineers

The Role of Hydraulic Design Engineers
2
  • Every developed city has its own network of
pipelines that are meant for different purposes.
Some carry water, some sewerage and other wastes
whereas some others carry natural and LP gas. And
the design and the planning of these networks are
of high importance. Problems in the planning can
lead to damage and even disasters and thus the
responsibility for the design and planning of
these systems rests on the experts who can
responsibly and efficiently figure out the
composition and functions of each of these
    networks.

  • The Hydraulic Design engineer deals with the
different concerns of the Hydraulic design and
provides consultancy and services in planning out
the entire project. Starting from a housing
project to a commercial building, a shopping mall
or even a hospital requires hydraulic engineer to
design and plan their projects. The hydraulic
design encompasses a number of categories
starting from the industrial effluent systems,
treatment of the sewerage, sanitary plumbing and
drainage, treatment of industrial wastes, storm
water drainage, cold and hot water services,
natural and LP Gas designs for projects of all
types from commercial to industrial etc. Thus
these major areas of the domestic and the public
life are heavily dependent on the hydraulic
engineers to plan and design hydraulic for their
    projects.

  • The treatment of the industrial wastes and the
sewerage is an important environmental factor.
The industrial wastes and the effluents if goes
untreated can cause a lot of damage to the
environment by contaminating water, soil etc.
This would result in widespread health hazards
over the time to both humans and animals. Proper
treatment of the sewage is also necessary as a
matter of hygiene and healthy living. The
sewerage stemming from the households, hospitals
and other buildings are treated so that they lose
their toxic content. Proper treatment of the
wastes is a big responsibility that should never
    be ignored.

5
  • Also, sanitary plumbing and drainage is necessary
for the passage of the sewer water from the
buildings before being treated. The hydraulic
engineer determines and designs the every facet
of the storage, treatment and passage of the
recycled, non potable or potable water systems.
The pipes and the valves are also selected basing
on the quality of the water. Drainage of storm
water is also another important responsibility.
The storm water design determines the drainage of
the storm water from the roof, overland and
surface, etc. It also helps mitigating minor
floods as well. The drainage of the storm water
is necessary to avoid flood or water getting
    stagnant.

6
  • The plumbing design too is a determining factor
in relation to the LP Gas and Natural Gas. Thus
in order to ensure proper treatment and drainage
of wastes, sewers, hot water and cold water every
settlement from a single house to a complex,
    hospital, schools, colleges, shopping malls,
commercial buildings and offices, factories etc
must all depend on a viable hydraulic and
plumbing design and this can only be provided by
    an efficient hydraulic design engineer.
