  • Aware students about altruism by reading a
    biography on a migrant who thought about ways to
    make life better for migrant workers.
  • Objectives
  • Determine what information is included in
    biographies.
  • Identify important details for further writing.
  • Understand and use vocabulary correctly.
  • Write a biography.
  • Read and understand the story correctly.

Anticipatory Set
  • Teacher asks students Do you like helping
    others? In which ways do you help others? Would
    you like to hear a story about a man who liked to
    help others?
  • Well, today were going to read the biography on
    CĂ©sar ChĂ¡vez, a leader of the United Farm Workers
    who thought about ways to make life better for
    migrant workers. He did many improvements and
    helped many people.

Input
  • First of all, the teacher explains that a
    biography is the most importants facts of
    someones life.
  • Then, we will go over vocabulary to make sure the
    students understand the reading.
  • A slide show would be used with vocabulary
    definitions and images.
