Articles, Interjections and Adverbial nouns
By Pramay Pandya Mods 23-25

Articles
  • The is called the definite article because it
usually precedes a specific or previously
mentioned noun a and an are called indefinite
articles because they are used to refer to
something in a less specific manner (an
    unspecified count noun).
  • CAUTION! Even after you learn all the principles
behind the use of these articles, you will find
an abundance of situations where choosing the
correct article or choosing whether to use one or
not will prove chancy. Icy highways are
dangerous. The icy highways are dangerous. And
    both are correct.

Examples of Articles
  • The (definite article)
  • A (indefinite article)
  • An (indefinite article)
  • Use an in place of a when it precedes a vowel
sound, not just a vowel. That means it's "an
honor" (the h is silent), but "a UFO" (because
    it's pronounced yoo eff oh).
  • The hunter who hunted bugs bunny always failed.
  • A cat was stuck in the tree.
  • An action such as jumping can hurt the back.
  • The art teacher sat and ate her lunch.
  • A man was suppose to arrive at the airport to
    pick us up.

Examples of Articles (continued)

    table.

Interjections
  • An interjection is an exclamatory word (or
words) that shows strong or sudden feeling and
has no grammatical function in the construction
    of a sentence.
  • Most mild interjections are set off from the
rest of the sentence with a comma or set of
commas. If the interjection is more forceful,
however, it is followed with an exclamation
    marks.

Examples of Interjections
  • Wow!
    Oops!
  • Ouch!
    Yippee!
