Icon
  • An icon is a small picture or object that links
    to different applications.
  • After users have logged on to the computer, they
    sometimes choose to double click on an icon.

Menu
  • A list of options on a computer.
  • A menu also has different applications on it.

Clip art
  • Pictures a user can get while using an
    application.
  • A user can get almost any type of picture
    from clip art.
  • Clip art gives a user the exact type of
    pictures that you are searching for.

Desktop
  • The screen that comes up after a user logs on.
  • The desktop holds all of the users main icons and
    short cuts.
  • A user can also design the desktop to fit them
    with all different types of pictures.

  • Type in the URL on the address bar in order to
    access a certain website or page on the internet.

    in which he/she may place a flash drive, iPod,

  • One can also use cable connecters to attach these

Taskbar
  • The taskbar is the bar along the bottom of the
    computer screen which holds minimized things and
    shortcuts to many things.

Minimize
  • This is done when one wants to open another
    program without exiting the running program.
  • The minimized program goes into the taskbar.
  • The minimize icon is at the top right corner by
    the restore down and exit buttons.

Link
  • This is clickable and will take one to another
    place on the internet.
  • A link may be in the form of words or a picture.
  • If a link is in the form of words, it will be
    underlined and usually blue. It will turn purple
    if it has already been clicked.
  • When one hovers over a link, the function of the
    link is shown.

Tab
  • It is a button on the keyboard.
  • In a Word document, it indents for a paragraph
    (like spacing five times).
  • Use it for moving from one field to another in
    Excel.

Backspace
  • It is a button on the keyboard.
  • This is clicked to remove a word or letter.
  • Use this on Word, Publisher, Excel, and
    PowerPoint.
  • It does like it sounds it moves back a space at
    the same time as it deletes the letter.

  • Copy Paste
  • Control C Control V, information can be copied,
    without losing the first, and move in a new part.

  • Click on an object, move it, and release it in a
    desired spot.

Cut Paste
  • Cut Paste takes something from a document and
    then puts it somewhere else.
  • Use it with Ctrl X and then Ctrl V
  • Also use it by a right click and then hit cut,
    then right click where you want it to go and hit
    paste.

  • Return is a button on the keyboard that moves
    down your cursor one line.
  • To use it hit a button that says Enter on it and
    the cursor will move down.

  • Its when the user hits the CAPS LOCK button on

    button all the letters in the text will be
    capitalized. When the user wants to make a few
    words capitalized the user doesnt have to hold
    down shift just press CAPS LOCK!

An address bar is a rectangle that the person on

  • Highlight is when you make something another

  • It also refers to selecting text or an object.

Save As
  • When you choose File/Save As, the user can use
    the dropdown box at the top of the Save As dialog
    box, labeled Save in, to select the location
    where you want to save your new copy. The user
    can also change the name of their new copy by
    using the File name box and then either save it
    in a new location or in the same location as the
    original. Furthermore, the user can change the
    file type by selecting a new type from the
    dropdown box at the bottom of the Save As dialog
    that's labeled Save as type.

Word art- Word art is a small program used by
Microsoft for use with word, FrontPage, and all

menu, you can choose the basic color and
shape. 3.) Now, you can change font, and type
what you want, then press o.k. 4.)now you can
