7Your Permanent Residence
Abide--"To remain or stay to live dwell or
lodge."
- The concept of abiding in God and abiding in
Jesus is used throughout 1 John. - We are to abide in

- The idea is that we must keep a constant link
with Gods presence (13).

Leaving a lifestyle of obedience for rebellion.
No one who abides in Him sins no one who sins
has seen Him or knows Him.I John 36
Christians in fellowship with God will
occasionally sin (17 21). But the one who
abides in God will not keep on sinning as he
habitually did before conversion.
9Walking in Light?
Living an open life of obedience before God.
Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we
have confidence before God--I John 320
You know in your heart if you are maintaining a
genuine relationship with God. You know if you
are struggling against sin or giving yourself
constantly over to it. The blood of Jesus is
constantly cleansing (17) the one who abides in
God there is no need to worry about dying with
a prayer on your lips.
