  • Learning to Work Efficiently and Accurately
  • Our goal in training department is to deliver the
    highest quality education and training services
    available for our employees and clients at
    reasonable cost
  • In this session we will give you some information
    about the ADVANTAGES and DISADVANTAGES of the
    Intranet technology, in the context of
    implementing it within the Training Dept.

What is Intranet
  • Intranet is defined as an internal network based
    on internet and world wide web technology and
    standards

Training from different perspective
  • Training is a large cost in any company. Enormous
    amounts of training need to be done in any
    company and the costs associated with training
    are not only financial they are the time devoted
    to training, and perhaps equally important the
    time and money wasted if a company doesnt
    properly train its employees. 
  • Training needs to be done to orient new employees
    to the company itself. Things such as teaching
    about the company procedures, where to find
    information, how to fill out forms, rules that
    employees must follow, and other similar
    orientation issues.

  • Another level of training has to do with how to
    use particular pieces of software in the company,
    for example how to use the accounting system or a
    database.

Advantages
  • It will reduce cost of training. (Traditional
    class-room based employee orientation programs
    can be costly and time consuming)
  • Intranet will help to continually upgrade the
    skills of our employees. 
  • It provides in-house training for new employees. 
  • It puts together customized training courses
    within hours and make them available 24h a day
    and seven days a week to employees.

Disadvantages
  • Insufficient training opportunities 
  • Upgrades of the system can be difficult to
    implement  
  • Constant need to reeducate employees on how to
    use certain functions of a new software
  •  Long serving employees are often intimidated
    with new technology and dont want to show their
    ignorance, leading them to not use the system

Summary
  • In this information age, the ability to learn
    better and faster is important for everyone in a
    company. Lifelong learning has become an
    expectation, not a pastime. A companys ability
    to manage the process of learning is critical to
    its success. It is therefore, highly
    recommendable that 240 eco implements Intranet in
    the training department. On the simplest level,
    web pages can be built to train people. The web
    cab be used as a multimedia training tool by
    including pictures, video, audio, with the text.
    It can be interactive as well people can answer
    questions, take tests, and try out procedures.
