4Our Budget Prospects Now
- FY 06 Even with self-funded raises and
increased benefit costs, we project ending FY 06
with a small 1.5 surplus. - BUT, given the system (OUS) and university
challenges (and our past subsidy), we have had to
submit plans for 5 reductions for FY 06 and
07. - Our potential reductions include marketing
(newsletters), professional development funds,
student workers, GTA/GRA positions, and selected
MAT program elimination.
5Our Budget Prospects and in the future
- Our budget in the future. Our financial health is
dependent on our success in entrepreneurial
activity through E-campus instruction, grants and
contracts, and private giving. Weve made
significant gains in each of these areas, and are
well-positioned to sustain our growth.

7What does home base mean to you?
The College of Education has about 100 faculty
members who serve about 1,000 students. In
addition, the College (4-H) serves about 100,000
youth through 6,000 adult volunteers. Most of our
work is done outside of Education Hall even
more will be in the future.
So, given that most of the work we do is (and
will be) outside of Ed Hall, what should be in Ed
Hall for it to be our home base?
8Its about stories and the people behind them
