Aims of the CODIS Project

• A robust, unified, permanently connected
  communications infrastructure for both voice and
  data throughout the whole of BAS.
• Increased bandwidth links to the Antarctic and to
  the outside World.
• Decreased running costs.
• Capacity for growth as technology develops.

• Invsat Ltd have been appointed as the preferred
  supplier for the project
• The space segment is secured with NSS and the
  leased line is installed
• Installations at Cambridge and Rothera, and on
  the RRS JCR and RRS Ernest Shackleton
• Simulated network for testing development
