• The way in which writers assemble words to tell
  the story, develop the argument, dramatize the
  play, or compose the poem very individualistic

• The writers selection of words
• All actions and ideas should be clear and vivid
• It should convey the ideas well

Classification of style

• Formal They resolved to leave means neither of

  women and to persons of all races

• Used to create interest
• The repetition of the same grammatical form
  (nouns, verbs, phrases, clauses) to balance
  expressions, conserve words, and build climaxes

Cumulatio or Accumulation

• Refers to the building up of details
• They felt as if they were going to jump off a
  cliff and fly. They felt that something was
  happening to them different from anything that
  had happened before. They though of each other
  now hardly as names or people. They went running
  without a break into the cold water. They dipped
  and floated and separated, sleek as mink.
