The history of the ISIS Project

• ISIS is the merging of two successful
  initiatives for the promotion of the Information
  Society and the cooperation for economic
  development in the Balkan Region
• The Turkish-Greek Information Society Forum which
  was established by TBV the Turkish Informatics
  Foundation and SEPE the Hellenic federation of
  Information Technology Associations, which are
  the leading Greek and Turkish Information society
  related associations.
• The IT Balkan Forum which was established by
  SEPVE the Association of Information Technology
  Companies of Northern Greece with the active
  participation of the Bulgarian and Romanian
  Associations of Information Technology companies
• All these organisations are actively
  participating in the ISIS effort.

Broad aims of the ISIS Project

• The ISIS project aims to
• - Build awareness about the Information Society
  and, in particular, about the e-Europe
  initiatives in the countries of South-eastern
  Europe (SEE).
• - Assess the situation in the SEE countries with
  respect to their participation in the European
  Commission Information Society Technologies
  Programme .
• - Foster more effective co-operation among the
  SEE countries.and with the other European
  Countries .
• - Provide a framework for regional collaboration
