Mandate
  • Develop a comprehensive and coordinated DDR
    policy
  • Update the interagency DDR policy development
    process
  • Formulate an IAWG to established terms of
    reference and procedures
  • In April 2004, DPKO initiated interagency process
    on DDR policy development
  • Started with seven UN agencies (DDA, DPKO, UNDP,
    UNICEF, UNIFEM, UNFPA, and UNHCR)
  • Aim to jointly develop a UN approach to DDR in a
    peacekeeping environment
