  • A Highly qualified staff maintains a caring,
    safe, and student-centered facility.
  • Clean facilities with adequate heat, air, and
    lighting

  • The Internet is accessible in all classrooms and
    offices.
  • The Franklin staff serves a very supportive
    community with high academic standards and
    expectations.

  • School built in 1952 with additions/renovations
    in 1957, 1962, and 1996 for 805 students
  • Current enrollment 620

  • Separate buildings force students and staff to go
    to lunch and some special classes by going
    outside.
  • Even though covered walkways are available,
    problems arise during inclement weather.

  • Adequate parking and consistent traffic flow are
    major issues.
  • The gymnasium is too small to accommodate the
    large student population. It is not
    air-conditioned.
  • The media center and cafeteria were constructed
    in 1954 with few updates since that time.

  • A playground renovation has not occurred in ten
    years. The PTO was recently approved to renovate
    a few pieces of play equipment.

  • All teachers and teaching assistants are highly
    qualified.

  • Commitment to Excellence surveys show a 96
    safety rating from parents, teachers, and
    students.
  • The HOSTS volunteer program and GALLOP reading
    program serve at-risk students.
  • Students in these programs gain an average of 10
    developmental points per year.

    shared by 3 school counselors and 1 clerical
    staff member
  • QZAB renovations (summer 2004) upgraded student
    restroom facilities and will provide new windows
    and a new roof for the field house.
