Objective

• Design and build a solar powered vehicle that is
• Economical
• Reliable
• Power efficient
• Easily assembled and disassembled

Design Constraints

• For the construction of our solar powered vehicle
  we were provided with the following
• A solar panel Dimensions 59 by 26 inches.
  Peak Wattage 120 Watts.
• Peak Current 7.1 Amperes.
• Peak Voltage 16.9 Volts.
• A small 12 volt Battery.

Research

• Our team of engineers (at least prospective
  engineers!) split up and started researching the
  various essential aspects of building a solar
  powered vehicle.

Characteristics

• Frame made of PVC piping.
• Put together with PVC fittings.
• Steering mechanism similar to a go-cart.
• A 12 volt DC motor.
• 12 wheels.
• Ball Bearings.
• Chain-Sprocket drive mechanism.

• Our initial design was scrapped by Dr. DeGoede,
  Dr. McBride, and our group of Prospective
  Engineers

New Design

• We came up with a new design taking Dr DeGoedes
  advice. We tried to put in as many truss like
  triangles as we could instead of unstable squares
  or rectangles.
