BOSTON TEA PARTY
  • They were taxing the tea. They dress up like
    Mohawk Indians and blackened their faces with
    soot so they would not be recognized.

REVOLUTIONARY WAR
  • Revolutionary War began on April 19,1775 and
    lasted to 1783. The War was caused of political
    conflicts and economic rivalry. The War was in
    Massachusetts in Concord and Lexington. The first
    shot was fired by the British troops.

STAMP ACT
  • The British parliament passed the stamp act in
    1765. Its purpose was to raise funds to support
    the British army stationed in America after 1763.

THE BATTLE OF BUNKER HILL
  • On June 23, 1775, Washington headed to Boston to
    take command of the new army. On his way north,
    he learned that the Battle of Bunker Hill had
    just been fought. On the night of June 16, one
    thousand minutemen marched in the dark to Bunker
    Hill.

LEXINGTON CONCORD
  • The colonists earlier boycotts had led to the
    repeal of the Stamp Acts. Colonists thought that
    refusing to trade with Britain would force
    Parliament to repeal the Intolerable Acts,too.

INTOLERABLE ACTS
  • The Boston Tea Party hit its mark in England .
    Parliament the British public and especially King
    George 3rd were out raged by it.

BOSTON MASSACRE
  • On March 5th, 1770, Boston exploded. A group of
    colonists had gathered at the Boston Customs
    house. The group led by Crispus Attucks and
    others began to throw snowballs at a British
    soldier on duty.

DECLARATION OF INDEPENDANCE
  • Jefferson spent two weeks writing the Declaration
    of Independence. The first part of the document
    explains why the colonies had the right to
    separate from Britain. Jefferson meant that
    everyone had certain rights and no government
    should take those rights away.

PROCLAMATION OF 1763
  • King George to halt the expansion of the American
    Colonies beyond the Appalachian Mountains. Before
    the French and Indian war France had helped
    prevent colonists from settling on Indian hunting
    lands west of the Appalachian.

TREATY OF PARIS
  • Peace discussions between Americans and British
    opened in Paris in April 1782.
  • The congress instructed the American delegates
    to consult with the French before they took any
    action.

SURRENDER AT YORKTOWN
  • It was located in Virginia . It started on
    October 6 ,1781 and lasted to October 19 1781.The
    British surrender in the wars last major battle.

BATTLES OF THE SOUTH
  • The battles deciding the outcome of the war took
    place in Georgia and the Carolinas. The British
    wanted to move the war to the south, thinking
    this region was full of Loyalists ready to battle
    for the British. They were wrong. Most southern
    loyalists were to afraid of their Patriot
    neighbors to fight.

WAR IN THE NORTH
  • The British plan of action was to stop the
    rebellion quickly before the colonists could get
    France and Spain to join. Forced out of Boston in
    March 1776,the British sailed to Canada to
    prepare for more fighting.
