37
Messages from Year 8
  • Dear Year 7 Student,
  • Hi! Youll probably find George Spencer a bit
of a puzzle, but dont worry, you will get used
    to it.
  • The school has some good clubs you can join like
drama, choir, football, netball, basketball and
many more. Weve had Activity Days as well
    theyve been great.

Message from Year 8
  • Dear New Year 7 Student,
  • Welcome to your school!
  • I bet youre really nervous about a new school!
But there is nothing to be scared of. I know how
you feel but its not that bad. You only get
detentions if youre really naughty or forget
your homework. Do you like the idea of homework?
Well, its not so bad. We got used to it, so
you will too! Thirty minutes per subject is what
you should expect. The Learning to Learn lessons
will really help you as well.
  • See you in September!

Message from Year 8
  • Dear New Year 7 Student,
  • Welcome to George Spencer.
  • George Spencer will be different to your Primary
School. It is a big school but if you get lost
there are older pupils and teachers there to help
you. There are over 200 computers throughout the
school and you can use these in lessons, at
dinner time and after school. One of the Lower
Site classrooms will be where you spend your
registration time in Years 7 and 8. There are
lots of Clubs you can take part in such as
Netball, Basketball, Choir and Drama Club. There
are also Inter-form Matches against other members
of your year. These are excellent ways to make
    new friends.
  • We hope you enjoy George Spencer as much as we
    do.
  • Good Luck.

40
