LB Agar Evaluation

• Volume
• It should be between 115-125ml
• Heating will cause evaporation

• Color
• Should be a straw or golden brown color
• Black flakes due to boiling to much
• Dark brown due to to much agar
• How to score yourself
• Happy face Golden Brown
• Sad face Black flakes or dark brown

• Mix
• Should have consistent density throughout bottle.
• Dark on bottom, light on top. It was not mixed
  enough. (5-8min of heat and mixing)
• Happy face Consistent density
• Sad face Dark bottom, light top

• Solidity
• Turn bottle upside down, it should stay solid
• If falls or liquid, there was not enough agar
• Happy face Solid upside down
• Sad face Liquid
