What is Classification?

  • Hierarchical arrangement of agenda that predicts
    a classification or value.
  • Unsupervised data-mining technique.
  • Analyst sets up the computer program and provides
    the data to be evaluated and the decision tree in
    return produces the tree accordingly.
  • Easy to understand and implement using the
    decision rules.

    organization and attitudes. It is both an
    organization and a people issue.

  • Though classification seems appropriate to use in
    certain areas of our lives. One must ask
    questions about the ethics of using such a
    system.
  • Is it fair to create a class within society where
    equality is preached?
  • How effective can this system be if it reinforces
    negative social stereotypes?
  • Are techniques like decision tree an easy way for
    organizations to hide its social/human bias?
