2Background History
- 1985- Concerns about standards of courses
- PEAI liaises with Depts of Education, Health,
Thomond College and Health Clubs with a view to
initiating the programme

- 1991 Thomond College integrated into University
of Limerick - 1997 onwards negotiations take place relating to
the integration of the NCEF into the University
of Limerick structure - 2006 The PEAI/NCEF formally becomes an academic
affiliate of the University of Limerick
4 UL Affiliation Accreditation
- PEAI/ NCEF recognised as an academic affiliate
of the University of Limerick - From Sept 2006 all NCEF registered students on
NCEF / UL accredited programmes are deemed
students of the University of Limerick and are
therefore subject to all UL academic regulations
and receive full UL academic credit on successful
completion.

- Work as the physical fitness trainer with sports
teams - Conduct fitness assessments on individuals or
groups (teams) and from the results of those
assessment design an appropriate exercise
programme - All the above are related to dealing with
individuals 18yrs and upwards

22On Acceptance
- All students accepted onto the NCEF programmes of
study are required to purchase the following - Stability ball - 10 approx.
- Dynaband - 10 approx.
- This equipment must be brought to class for use
on specific dates, to aid practice and
preparation between sessions

- The following requirements must be submitted with
non refundable deposit in order for your
application to be processed - 2 Passport size photos
- Screening Form and signed Code of Practice
completed by applicant - Applicant Clearance formcompleted by GP, signed
and stamped - All written medical clearance must be in place by
the first day to be eligible to attend day 1
