    representative from each attendance area.

  • Interested parents are elected by the SAC as
    community members or business partners. All
    business and community members are elected by the
    newly formed SAC parents and teachers.
  • Why is it not appropriate?
  • Business and community members should not be
    parents at the school. The principal appoints
    business and community members, with the consent
    of the School Advisory Council.

  • Teachers are elected by teachers. Each grade
    level team selects a teacher to represent the
    team. Support staff representatives are elected
    at a support staff meeting in the fall.

    If the school has too many school based
    representatives, the AP would become a non voting
    member.

  • The law provides for the membership of one
