To support scientific excellence and
technological innovation through the investment
of federal funds in critical American priorities
to build a strong national economy one small
business at a time.
5Initiated in 1982, the SBIR program is now in
its 22nd year.During that time, 14,000 U.S.
small businesses have received 75,000 Phase I and
Phase II awards totaling more than 15 BILLION,
an average of 200,000 per awardand more
than 40,000 patents have been issued to those
awardees.

of competitive proposals. - Publishes a bi-weekly e-newsletter with current
information on agency solicitations, due dates,
regional and national conferences and workshops,
a listing of additional resources, and other
SBIR/STTR news and topics of interest.
