Whats the Issue

• Currently Chair can serve 2 consecutive 1year
  terms
• First term requires start up adjustments
• Second term usually most effective
• Council then looses the experienced leadership
  only to start over again

Potential Solution

• Establish three elected, executive positions for
  Council
• Chair Elect,
• Chair and,
• (immediate) Past Chair
• One year term in each position

• Chair Elect Duties
• As requested by Chair and/or Council
• Chair of Elections Committee
• Chair of a standing committee (?)
• Past Chair Duties
• As requested by Chair and/or Council
• Chair of Awards/Recognition Committee
• Chair of a standing committee(?)

Transition Year 04

• Elect Both Chair and Chair Elect
• Candidates would be eligible for both positions
• Candidate with highest number of votes would be
  elected Chair, second highest number would be
  Chair Elect

Proposed Process

• Draft Bylaw language available March 15
• Posted on wagic.wa.gov
• For consideration and vote at April 15 meeting
• Nominations for Candidates accepted April 15
  through May 15st
• Fax based vote conducted week of June 7th
• Election Results presented at June 17th meeting
