R2O Research to Operations

• ISCCP Pathfinder NASA/NOAA funded effort to
  develop and document conversion approach and
  characteristics of operational Climate Data
  Record production
• SRB and GACP can follow directly since they work
  off ISCCP products
• GPCP may need to be re-designed (no plan yet)

ISSUES

• Continued Production and Archival of current data
  products does not seem to be an issue at least
  for the next 5 years
• NOTE that the GRP solution was arranged without
  GCOS or GEOSS involvement
• Responsibility for Product Evaluation, Revision
  and Re-processing is embedded in Definition of
  Climate Data Record but Commitment to this is not
  solid
• Role of Research Community is not clear
