  • MOC Part 2

Continuing Medical Education
  • 50 CME hours annually
  • Minimum of 30 of these hours must be category
    1CME annually
  • Minimum of 1/3rd must be self assessment
  • This is averaged over 3 years
  • 50 hours minimum self assessment in 3 year cycle
  • MOC year will run July 1 June 30

Vascular Surgery Certification
  • Minimum of 50 of total CME must be in Vascular
    Surgery
  • Minimum 25 hours annually in vascular
  • Essentially one vascular meeting a year would
    fulfill the vascular CME requirement
  • 100 of self assessment CME must be in vascular
    surgery

  • Will be available summer 2008
  • 250 questions
  • CME credit value yet to be determined
  • Revised and republished every three years

  • Vascular Self Evaluation Program VSEP
  • 400 questions
  • Max 60 hrs CME
  • SESAP also satisfies self assessment requirement
  • 650 questions
  • Max 65 hrs CME
  • Only a portion is considered vascular specific

Journal of Vascular Surgery CME
  • Monthly CME exercise
  • Single test covering 4 selected articles
  • Total of 8 questions, 2 questions per article for
    2 CME credits
  • All questions must be answered correctly to
    obtain CME credit
  • but the test may be repeated
  • New articles chosen each month for CME purposes
  • Existing tests remain on the system for 2 years
  • Up to 24 CME credits can be obtained each year
