  • Just 14 firefighters
  • 60,000 additional calls per year
  • 55 square miles to the service area

2005 WELLNESS PROGRAM
  • Heart disease causes 45 of the deaths
    that occur among U.S. firefighters while they are
    on duty.
  • Improved fitness promotion, medical screening
    and medical management could prevent many of
    these premature deaths.
  • The DFD Wellness Program has contributed to a
    44 decrease in Workers Compensation claims.
