How did we get here?
  • 1. TTFM responses from students indicated 41
satisfaction with availability of clubs and
    activities
  • 2. Discussions with students during class visits
    indicated students desired creative activities
    and opportunities.
  • 3. Research and investigation, both locally and
nationally, lead us to this program as a best fit
    for or our school.

3
What Is a Hockey Canada Skills Academy?
  • HCSA is a hockey program that seeks to provide an
    environment where student-athletes can pursue
personal hockey skills development while in the
    pursuit of academic excellence.
  • There are over 60 schools across Canada using the
    program, including East Wiltshire.

4
Goals of the Program
  • To build a commitment to excellence, discipline,
dedication, time management, and strength of
    character.
  • To challenge each student to achieve their
personal goals by developing their hockey skills
and improve their fitness level, while
maintaining a high level of academics.
  • To provide a safe environment in which students
can improve their level of skill, build positive
relationships, improve leadership skills and have
    fun.

5

    to apply.
  • Queen Charlotte is committed to having as many
students as possible benefit from this

    cost/budget associated with this program.
  • Hockey P.E.I. is supporting this program by
providing 5800.00 this year. The district has
made substantial contributions of staff and
    monetary support.
