Characteristics of the Program
  • Instructors will apply and be placed in a tier of
    Associate, Lead, or Master-level instructor
  • Instructors will advance in the program based on
    their completion continuing education
    requirements, length of time as an instructor,
    and student evaluations

APICS Instructor Grandfather Period
  • September 2008 to January 1, 2010
  • There are many qualified instructors currently
    delivering APICS education.
  • These instructors will be grandfathered into the
    program at the appropriate level by submitting an
    application and supporting documentation.

Associate Instructor
  • Novice instructors or instructors with limited
    experience in one or two program areas
  • APICS Certified in Production and Inventory
    Management (CPIM) modules
  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Lean Enterprise Workshop Series (Lean)
  • Global Sourcing Workshop Series (Global)
  • Train the Trainer (TTT) or Learning Dynamics for
    Instructors (LDI) courses

Associate Instructor Requirements
  • Have the minimum work experience required to be
    admitted into the program
  • Demonstrate Subject Matter Knowledge in at least
    one content area
  • Have a sponsoring partner (APICS chapter,
    international associate, authorized education
    provider) submit a Partner Endorsement Letter
  • Submit an endorsement letter from a Lead or
    Master instructor
  • Sign and submit the APICS Code of Ethics
  • Take TTT or equivalent before applying to the
    program
  • Submit application and 50 processing fee

  • No degree 10 years work experience
  • Associates degree 8 years work

  • MA degree 4 years work experience
  • PhD degree 2 years work experience

Lead Instructor
  • This level is designed for instructors with
    demonstrated subject matter expertise in two to
    five subject areas. These individuals may mentor
    Associate-level instructors at their local APICS
    chapter, international associate, or authorized
    education provider.

Lead Instructor Qualifications
  • To be a candidate for the Lead-instructor level,
    you are required to meet all of the
    Associate-level requirements and
  • Completed at least 60 contact hours of teaching
  • (2 courses)
  • Completed Learning Dynamics for Instructors
    course
  • Submit video of recent instruction
  • Submit evaluations for all previous courses and
    met criteria
  • Submit application and 50 processing fee

Master Instructor
  • This level is ideal for the most experienced,
    adept APICS instructors who set the standard for
    high-quality education. Master instructors
    demonstrate a strong command of APICS educational
    offerings and are able to teach APICS courseware
    within one or more of the following APICS
    curriculum areas, including APICS CPIM modules,
    APICS CSCP, Lean, Global, or TTT/LDI courses.

Master Instructor
  • To be a candidate for the Master instructor
    status, you are required to meet all of the
    Lead-instructor requirements and
  • Hold complete series qualification in one of the
    major APICS courses
  • Have taught at least 300 contact hours of courses
  • Qualify as an SME (subject matter expert)
  • Volunteer and mentor
  • Submit video to be evaluated by three Master
    instructors
  • Submit evaluations for all previous courses and
    met criteria
  • Submit application and 50 processing fee

Maintenance
  • Submit course evaluations and meet criteria
  • Develop a continuous improvement plan and report
    your progress every other year
  • Participate in a mentoring program
  • Take continuing education courses
