- Our annual Jump-a-thon was held the week of
February 13th. Students and Staff raised 856.40
which was donated to the American Heart
Association. Thank you to all who participated
and a special thank you to Ms. Camden County,
Lindsay Creaney for visiting our event.

2Valentines for the Troops
- WES Elementary participated in the
Valentines for the Troops initiative. All
students made valentines that were sent to our
servicemen and women overseas for Valentine's Day.
3Read Across America Week
-
- The entire school will be taking part in the WES
Reading Olympics! We will also host a celebrity
guest reader, travel to the high school for a PAC
center mini-performance of Joseph and the
Techicolor Dreamcoat. - National Book Drive Books from the Heart
which will help rebuild school libraries
that were affected by the Hurricane. Individual
grade levels have many other activities planned.
The focus of the week will be not only to
recognize the importance of reading but also to
celebrate the joy of reading.

Across America. Students and staff enjoyed
listening to the exciting stories read by
administration, parents, community leaders, and
celebrities.

- On Monday, February 27th, Cydney Long from CBS
Channel 3 News visited 2nd graders to kickoff
Read Across America Week. Ms. Long read the book
Oh the Places Youll Go and some students were
invited up to help her read. Each class also
prepared questions and were able ask about her
career and how important reading is to her.
