21960
St. Charles Borromeos beginning was on July 25,
1960. The first pastor of the parish was Rev.
Carroll Guenther.
The land was purchased from the Kaczmarowski
family for the future combined school and church.
31961
They used the Wisconsin Telephone Company for a
temporary place to worship each weekend until the
church was completed.
The present church and school was completed in
1961. The building was dedicated in the fall.
41963
In the summer of 1963, 4 Franciscan Sisters of
St. Joseph from Hamburg, New York arrived.
They had no living space so an area in the school
was reconstructed to provide living space for
them.

In October of 1963 there was an addition because
of the amount of increasing children. They added
a hall and 5 new classrooms.
61964
Rev. Oswald Krussing became pastor. A year later,
a convent was built on the other side of the
parking lot.
Ten sisters moved into the convent and the living
spaces in the school were made into more
classrooms.
71966-1969
In 1966, Rev. William Zelly was made the third
pastor of St. Charles Borromeo.
He gave the direction to build the rectory.
81971-1995
In 1971 Rev. Edward Safiejko was assigned as
pastor. A renovation of the church took place in
the summer of 1995. They celebrated mass in the
hall.
The remodeled church was dedicated in November by
Archbishop Rembert Weakland
92000
In January of 2000, Rev. Anthony Zimmer became
pastor at St. Charles Borromeo
When he came, the programs we have expanded and
new ones we established.
102002
In 2002, a capital campaign was begun to start a
building project. This project would include a
new gathering space, a bell tower, a chapel,
gymnasium, new library, technology room, science
lab, extra classrooms, meeting rooms, and a new
office.
112003
The groundbreaking for this project took place in
June of 2003.
