Where Is The ELU?
The English Language Unit is in the Walter
Moberly Building, behind the Chapel. The Main
Office is WM0.09, and ELU tutors offices are on
the first floor. ELU noticeboards and sign-up
sheets are on the first floor landing.

in the ELU Enquiries Office downstairs in the
Walter Moberly Building (WM0.09). To reach this
office, go through the front entrance of the
building and straight ahead through the next set
of doors. The office is on the left.

What does the ELU offer international
undergraduates?

• CSP modules in English Language (e.g. academic
  writing, grammar, seminar skills)
• One-to-one tutorials (20-minute private sessions,
  by appointment)
• General advice / assistance study skills,
  external exams, suitable self-study materials
• WebCT noticeboard with resources links
• Resource library
• General English conversation sessions

CSPs the International Student

• International students do not pre-register for
  CSPs
• ALL international students are tested for their
  English skills at induction (21st Sept.)
• Any required English Language CSPs should take
  priority over other CSPs
• International students register for CSPs on 22nd
  Sept. in the Walter Moberly Bldg
• Further English testing sessions are available to
  latecomers

One-to-one Tutorials

• What is a one-to-one tutorial'? 
• A booked, 20-minute private session with an ELU
  Tutor
• Who is it for? 
•  Open to any non-native-English-speaking Keele
  student
• Do I need to bring anything? 
• Bring along the essay or assignment you are
  working on, or your questions on grammar,
  pronunciation, study skills or reading skills.
• Will you check my work for me? 
• We do not proofread your work! 
• How do I book a one-to-one tutorial?
• Sign-up sheets are posted every Friday for the
  following week.

24 or 25 September, please check that your
international tutees

• Have been tested by the English Language Unit
• Have been registered for any required English
  Language modules
• Are aware of the English Language Unit as a
  source of help and advice (have a supply of
  fliers)
• If NO is an answer to any of the above, please
• send your tutee to the ELU!
• Please do not hesitate to convey any of your own
  concerns about your tutees English to the ELU.
