- A University Award offered through a partner
institution in the UK and overseas - Traditional types of collaborative arrangements

8Why develop Collaborative Programmes?
- Government support to develop wide range of
collaborationsincluding with further education
providers / Prime Ministers Initiative - Widening participation UoP Strategic Statement
to 2008 - Deliver aspiration-raising activities with
partners in the area - Promote and provide clear progression
routesflexible routes into HE will include
Foundation Degrees, franchised courses and top-up

10Roles and Responsibilities
- The University Contact is the department level
appointment. - The University Contact is responsible for the
day-to-day management of the collaborative link
and is the first line of referral for all
academic and course management issues. The
University Contact maintains regular contact with
the partner and works closely with the
Collaborative Programmes Office (CPO) and the
Associate Dean (Academic) (AD(A)). Because
arrangements vary accordingly to the requirements
of the individual link, University Contacts must
ensure that they and their Partner Contacts are
clear about their respective roles and
responsibilities. Therefore, the University
Contact should agree and document a record of
each Contacts role and responsibilities to make
clear who does what.
11Roles and Responsibilities
- The University Administrative Contact is the
named person from the relevant University
department/faculty who is the first point of
contact for the partner institution and CPO for
day-to-day administration of the programme. - The AD(A) is a faculty level appointment. The
AD(A) has responsibility for the maintenance of
standards, the quality of course delivery and
good communications systems in relation to those
Partner Institutions offering awards owned by the
Faculty. The AD(A) liaises with CPO with regard
to the approval, monitoring, review and reporting
requirements for the quality assurance of
collaborative programmes. - The Collaborative Programmes Office (CPO)
provides a university level function. The CPO is
based in Quality Management Division, Academic
Registry and gives a strategic and operational
focus to the management of collaborative
programmes, allowing certain aspects of delivery
to be managed more closely.

involved with the management and support
of collaborative provision - To support the University Contact Forum
- To inform the University and its partners about
new developments
