These are recycled separately on the first floor
of every residence hall.

  • It cant be recycled in with the mixed paper or
    elsewhere in the dorms.
  • Central pickup locations include the Farinon and
    Marquis loading docksbring your corrugated
    cardboard here for recycling.

  • Cardboard will be picked up from residence halls
    on moving-in day.
  • Leave cardboard boxes near trash disposal areas
    but dont mix them with trash. The custodians
    will recycle the cardboard.

Problems with recyclingContamination
  • Custodians will throw away the contents of a
    recycle bin if it looks like trash.
  • Talk to residents of your floor about
    contamination.
  • Make sure recycle bins are well labeled and have
    clear plastic bags.

If a custodian is throwing away recyclables
  • Talk to him or her about it - there may be a good
    reason.
  • Email recycle_at_lafayette.edu if the problem
    continues.
  • The goal is to have a working recycling program,
    not to get anyone in trouble.
