Hindu Creation Stories

• The creation of the universe is a mystery
• It is beyond human understanding and so therefore
  will never be completely answered
• Hindus believe that this is not the first
  universe
• The cycle of life, death and rebirth is the same
  for the universe as for us
• The Trimurti are involved in the creation stories
• Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma

Religion V Science

• Hindus do not have an absolute set of beliefs,
  therefore there is no clash between religion and
  science
• You can believe in either
• Hinduism does not take its stories literally
• So many Hindus believe the scientific theories
  of the creation of the universe
• After all the Hindu creation stories do not agree
  either!

Hindu views on humans and animals

• All living things come from the same source
• They are all united through their relationship
  with God
• Hindus believe in reincarnation, therefore all
  life is precious
• Due to this close link many Hindus are vegetarian

  environment is very important
• The whole world is an aspect of God and therefore
  caring for the world shows respect to God
• Due to reincarnation Hindus will be on this earth

  vitally important to them
