15Phase 1 Status
- ISIS has been rolled out to 132 schools. As of
today, we have more than 16,000 users and 291,000
students in schools served by the system. - In general, schools are embracing ISIS.
- Users enjoy the new system and the benefits of
having accurate attendance information
immediately available. - Schools are making better use of technology and
email. - Users want to do more with the system, and
continue to provide the District with valuable
suggestions for improvement. - As with any new system, we have experienced some
challenges, all of which are being addressed and
have helped improve the rollout as more and more
schools start using ISIS.
16Phase 1 Lessons Learned
- Technological Support for Schools
- A professional team (Tiger Team) visits all
schools to ensure proper network connectivity,
and surveys / updates computers as needed. - The Board of Education approved the purchase of
school office computers and printers (for ISIS
and Business Tools for Schools projects). - 12 million to replace older systems (10M for
computer replacement, 2M for new printers). - Personnel Support for Schools
- All secondary schools received additional
resources for the Attendance Office to help with
initial start-up and workload until school staff
grows familiar with new system (Program 2106). - Effective July 1, 2006, an additional clerk /
office technician will be a newly normed position
at all secondary schools. - Enhanced Communication Effort
- Additional resources added to the communication
team - Expanded the Stakeholders committee to include a
broader group such as teachers, administrator,
and clerical unions
