Title: A Ramadhan Health Reminder
1A Ramadhan Health Reminder
Supervisors Remember that many of your staff
will be fasting during Ramadhan and may be more
susceptible to dehydration effects. Be alert to
the condition of your employees and have them
take breaks if they appear to be tired or
fatigued. Lack of sleep decreases alertness,
concentration, and response time. Drivers
should be especially careful and avoid long
journeys. Travel with a companion. Schedule
heavy, outdoor work in the early morning hours to
avoid excessive heat. For those who are
fasting DO NOT SKIP YOUR BREAKFAST! This is a
very important meal to sustain you throughout the
day. Take it as close to dawn (suhoor) as
possible. When breaking the fast, remember that
food quality is more important than quantity.
Dont overeat. Adequate sleep is a must. Get at
least 5-6 hours of sleep each night - or more if
possible. Avoid caffeine at least four hours
before your bedtime. Some medications must be
taken with food or timed according to food
intake. If you take such medications, consult
with your physician about changing your schedule.
Ramadhan Mubarak!
