Title: Activities for the following years
1- Activities for the following years
- 1. During the second year, a calendar, combining
all three calendars produced the former year of
the Project, will be made. A brochure containing
information about various festivities and
consumer habits associated with these festivities
will also be produced. - 2. The works produced will be made public to our
educational communities through the local press,
local radio and other media at our disposal. - 3. At the end of the second year, all the work
done will be evaluated at a Project Meeting.

2- Activities for the following years
- 4. The Project will be evaluated in the form of a
questionnaire answered by all the partnership
schools. Whether any changes in the consumer
habits of our students were verified will also be
analysed. - 5. After the Meeting in Nasielsk, the students in
the Czech (Valaské Mezirící) and Portuguese
(Alvide) Schools will celebrate Polish Day in
their Schools. - 6. During the third year, a CD-ROM containing the
work produced during the whole Project will be
made. A VHS film will also be produced so that
our work can be shown at other schools of the
same or different teaching levels, situated in
the same community/district as our Project
Schools. Our Schools will then visit other
schools in the area and publicize the work they
have accomplished.

18CONSUMERS and FESTIVALS
- Working on the Project in Alvide
The School Library/Resource Center has played a
significant role in our Consumers and Festivals
Project. The Library, with its fairly wide range
of resources, has become a very important source
of information. Students involved in the project
frequently seek advice on research,
organisational and writing skills.

23Translation Strategies / Techniques
The 11th graders in class 4 were divided into 3
groups and given an assignment that consisted in
translating data regarding The Czech Republic,
Poland and Portugal. This data was selected from
The World Factbook (US government profiles
containing information on the geography, people,
economy, government, transportation, of
countries and territories around the world.

24CONSUMERS and FESTIVALS
- Difficulties we have come across
-
- It has been very interesting to carry out this
project. We think that our students find the
Consumer theme interesting and important for
them. - Sometimes it is difficult to take time away from
regular subject matters to work on the project. - The contact between all partners has not always
been easy (some contacts are easy but others are
difficult). In spite of this, I think that we
will achieve our aims during the time we still
have left (until 2007).

25CONSUMERS and FESTIVALS
- Conclusions
- We are still in our first steps on Consumers and
Festivals, but we must try harder regarding the
topic Consumer Education in order to change our
students consumer habits so that they will not
consume unnecessary items and mould our
pupils consumer habits to their real needs. - I am almost sure that if we meet again next year
Ill have better, more interesting and more
encouraging results.
