Auditing Existing Licenses

• Identify your hardware first
• at home, still in boxes or cupboards!
• Update your inventory
• Keep it simple, but do it often
• Include cost of software
• Start a PAPER filing system
• Keep orders, delivery notes, certificates,
  emails, license keys.
• Reconcile
• Licenses vs actual copies

• Understand what you are buying
• Site, network, concurrent, multi-user, open
  source, single user, perpetual, annual, public
  domain, demo licenses
• One off purchase or annual charge?
• Use by teachers or pupils at home?
• Are upgrades included?
• If so, for how long?
• How much for extra copies?
