RADC Coaching Service

• RMR RADC was selected to coach one of the first
  eight Junior High Performance Teams in the US
• Serves on the Pikes Peak Triathlon Club Board as
  a Youth and Junior Liaison
• Advises, educates, and serves the RMR Council in
  the arena of athlete development
• RADC actively coaches at USAT Regional and Select
  Camps
• Collaborates with National Staff to improve
  service to athletes, coaches and parents

Multisport School Programs

• In 2008 RMR designated two start-up grants for
  school based Multisport Pilot Programs.
• Galileo has been started and the second program
  is in development
• RADC partnered with ITU Sport Development Manager
  to select grant
• recipients and design the
• project.

Multisport School Programs

• The Galileo School of Math and Science kick-off
  was September 9th 2008!
• Our second multisport school program is in the
  early stages of selection.
• Slated to launch fall 2009.
• SBMS is a deliverable and sustainable model which
  may be used for other regional development
  projects.

• Triathlon clinics for regional youth and junior
  athletes were held at Discovery Canyon HS in
  Colorado Springs and during USAT Youth Nationals.

• Clinics and camps create opportunities for young
  athletes to..
• 1) learn and train with their peers
• 2) master skills properly and safely
• 3) join a team or work with a qualified
  coach
• independently or remotely
• 4) network with athletes in their geographic
  areas
• 5) become involved in and have access to
  USAT
• events and resources
• 6 ) enter USAT development pipeline and
  talent id programs

• We now have a clinic template that may be
  duplicated by coaches throughout the Rocky
  Mountain Region.

Opportunities Education

• The RMR RADC has developed criteria for athletes
  to meet and submit for application of travel
  funds.
• The criteria support participation in the 2009
  PATCO Championships in Oklahoma, USAT Youth and
  Jr. National Championships and the National Cup
  races.

  available to athletes on the
• 1. Regional Newsletter and Website
• 2. USAT Website
• 3. And individual RADC communications with
  regional board members, coaches, athletes and
  parents

2009 Athlete Development

• Will attend the USAT National Elite Cup at
  Strawberry Fields with competing team and
  regional athletes.
• Will support and represent the RMR athletes at
  USAT Youth National Championships, the Youth
  Junior Elite National Championships and other
  regional races as needed.
• Will participate in USAT/ITU coaching education
  opportunities.

• Offer regional coaching mentorship/scholarship
  opportunities to ALL the RMR region coaches.
• RMR Youth and Junior Multisport Coaching and
  Program Design Course in 2009
• Create a data base for regional talent ID to
  support the USAT HP program.

• Assist with the creation of a RMR youth and
  junior regional series of points races. A
  priority initiative in the RMR!
• With assistance from the RMRC create new
  partnerships and provide increased funding,
  resources and awareness for sport development.
• Produce resource materials that can be shared
