NEW YEAR IN GREECE

The traditional food in the New Year Eve that all
Greek people eat is a special cake, we call it
vasilopita . All the family is around the table
and the oldest person cut the vasilopita in
pieces. Inside there is a coin. The person who
will findthe coin, we say that is the luckiest of
the year.

All people around the world know the Santa-Claus
.In Greece, he comes in the New Year Eve and
brings the Christmas presents and he leave them
under the Christmas tree. Of course we dont
believe in Santa-Claus because we know that the
presents comes from our parents.. But small
children believe in him and they wait for him
with suspense..

The first day of January we go to church.. This
day many people have their name day, their
names are Vasilis and Vaso.
