- 1st appeared in 1994
- 1995 Real Audio was released by Progressive
Networks (now called Real Networks) as the first
streaming player - MSNBC and ABC quickly adopted this new technology
and began re-broadcasting current television
content on the web - Approximately 80 of home Internet users have
installed streaming media players on their
