    independent living, home care and community
    outreach centre for seniors
  • Servicing over 6,000 clients throughout Nova
    Scotia.
  • Employs over 1,200 employees and has over 500
    registered volunteers.

  • To coordinate wellness initiatives, in 2001
    Northwood created a Workplace Wellness
    Department this moved to the Health and Wellness
    department in 2002 and in 2005 evolved to
    Organizational Health.

2005 Healthy Workplace Award
  • Northwood received the Psychologically Healthy
    Workplace Award for recognition of excellence in
    Health and Wellness Programs
  • The process provided an opportunity to review
    the initiatives Northwood has in place to promote
    the psychological health of our people.
  • It provided an understanding of what makes a
    workplace healthy and affirmed that we were going
    in the right direction.
  • Strengthened the business case for what we do.
