Why?
  • Should We Prioritize Evangelism?

3
Why should we evangelize?
  • It expands the Kingdom of God.
  • Gods Commission to us.

  • The lifting up of Godly holiness in peoples
    lives.

4
Come, Follow Me and I Will Make You Fishers of
Men.

Our Mission as Followers of Jesus.
  • Luke 199-10- Jesus came to seek and to save
    what was lost.
  • Mark 1045- Jesus came to serve and to give his
life as a ransom for many.
  • John 146,12- Jesus is the way, the truth, and
the life. No one comes to the Father but through
him. Anyone who has faith will do what he did.
  • Matt. 2819- Go and make disciples. Baptize
    them. Teach them.
  • 2 Cor. 520- We are Christs ambassadors, as
though God were making his appeal through us.

11
Who?
  • Doesnt the Pastoral Staff Do That?

12
The evangelists are
  • The pastoral leadership
  • The church body (laity)

Christianity is essentially a lay movement.
Greg Ogden
13
Arent the sick in need of a doctor?
  • We bring a message of healing, redemption, and
    hope.
  • We are reaching those who are receptive to the
    gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • We are reaching out to unbelievers everywhere.

14
How?
  • Can We Really Do This?

15
Evangelism Begins with Leadership and it Ends
with the Laity.
  • 1. Vision and future goals.
  • 2. Asking the right questions.
  • 3. Commitment and perseverance.
  • 4. Passion and enthusiasm

16
Equipping the Church
  • 1. Hold classroom training seminars.
  • Teaching
  • Discussion
  • Gifts inventory
  • On-the-job Training.
  • Take trainees on calls
  • Give briefing and debriefing
  • Repeat again until trainee can be a trainer.

17
The Church Needs Quality Planning.
  • High-impact outreach events that vary purposes.
  • Worship services that have
  • Cultural relevance
  • Excellent audio/visual
  • Thoughtful and meaningful proclamation of the
    Word
  • A stimulating atmosphere and pace
  • Engaging components of worship
  • A wide variety of classes that provide excellent
training for people with different ministry
    styles.
  • A wide variety of service projects.

18
Just Be Willing to Do Something!
  • It is written I believed therefore I have
spoken. With that same spirit of faith we also
believe and therefore speak because we know 2
    Corithians 413
  • Its time the church stands up and shows that it
really believes the truths that it acknowledges.
  • Faith without deeds is dead. James 226

19
It usually takes about five times more energy to
reactivate a disgruntled or carnal member than it
does to win a receptive unbeliever.-Rick
Warren, The Purpose Driven Church
20
Its only the Spirit of God who enables one to
carry on the redemptive mission of evangelism.
  • -Robert E. Coleman

    visitation to church.

24
When?
