9What is moderate activity?
- Anything that makes you breathe as hard as you
would during a brisk walk
10Moderate Activities
- Mowing the lawn
- Volleyball

11What is a vigorous activity?
- Any activity that makes you breathe as hard as
you do when running.
12Vigorous Activities
- Jogging
- Biking
- Aerobics
- Lap swimming
- Tae Bo
- Stair climbing (moderate pace)
- Tennis
- Kick-Boxing
13What About Nutrition?
Eat a variety of healthful foods, with an
emphasis on plant sources and drink plenty of
water.
- Eat five or more servings of a variety of
vegetables and fruits each day.
- Choose whole grains in preference to processed
(refined) grains.
- Limit consumption of red meats, especially
those high in fat and processed.
- Choose foods that maintain a healthful weight.
- Drink 8-12 8oz. glasses of water per day
14What is a Serving?
- Medium Apple or Orange (Size of a Tennis Ball)
- 1 cup chopped raw vegetables or fruit (Size of
baseball) - ¼ cup dried fruit ( A small handful)
- Cup of Lettuce (four leaves)
- 5-6 baby carrots
- 1 cup of 100 fruit juice
- 3 oz of Meat (Size of a deck of cards)
- 3 oz of Fish (Size of a checkbook)
- 1 oz cheese (Size of 4 dice)
