Title: Inviting the Un-churched!

1
Inviting the Un-churched!
  • Unit Churched Based Evangelism
  • Evangelism is Gods will for the church (II
Corinthians 519,20)! Although we can use a wide
variety of methods, our job as leaders is to
understand and teach those principles that are
most suitable and effective in the church!

2
Church Based EvangelismWhat is church based
evangelism?
  • 1. An outreach specifically geared to utilizing
the members of a local congregation to use their
spiritual gifts to plant, cultivate, and reap the
harvest of lost souls for the Kingdoms sake!
  • 2. It begins at the local church level! It begins
    with youright here at home!

3
How do I get started with Church Based Evangelism?
  • 1. Church based evangelism requires local people!

When does evangelism occur?
  • Evangelism occurs most easily within existing
(warm) relationships, rather than by talking to
    strangers (cold medium).
  • Scripture gives examples of warm medium
evangelism. See John 141-51, Acts 1630-34, II
    Timothy 15
  • Evangelism prayer Lord, help me to build warm
relationships for the express purpose of
    introducing sinners to you!

7
Application-Building Bridges
  • Are you seeing visitors on a regular basis?
  • If you are, it is because you have active bridge
    builders in your church!
  • How can we get the most out of bridge builders?
  • How should we deal with rejection?

8
Bridge Builders
  • Determine whether people are witnessing to their
    non-Christian friends.
  • Model to all that evangelism is important!
  • Convince Christians that evangelism is a means of
    grace!
  • Believe with all your heart that you are called
to be a representative of Christ!

9
Barriers to Building Bridges
  • Dont know what to say?
  • Fear of rejection?
  • Fear of being ridiculed?
  • Identity problem?
  • Time constraints?
  • Just let God deal with them!
