theyre in, and what oceans surround them. Do
you know where you will go? What do you pack?
How will you get there? You are going to see so
many interesting and exciting new places,
animals, and land forms. Let this be an

After you and your travel group has been to
the continent of your desire, you will create a
travel brochure to be handed out as advertisement
to your friends. You will want to look for
interesting sites, land forms, and animals that
you see as you venture this new continent. As
you and the other members of your travel group
research on the websites provided, record the
exciting information that you find so you can

I have used many, many, many websites. The list
is too long for this page, so I am leaving a link
to a Word document. Web Resources My search
engines were Yahoo and Google. I also used one
ClipArt picture, shown on the North American
slide. I downloaded the background template from
Microsoft Online.

Whew! That was A TON of work! I adapted this
WebQuest from another teacher named Shannon M.
Blanchard Jarvis ("Where in the World Are the
Continents?") I also got some other ideas from
Cathy Hoag, creator of "Amazing Australia" and M.
Eaglestons "Southwest Vacation" This is a very
detailed and complex WebQuest for 3rd graders to
complete, but I would give them about 3-4 weeks
to complete it. If you do not have 7 groups of
4 (for the roles), you could alter this a bit by
having the extra student help another member, or
let them choose which role he/she would like to
play. You could also alter this WebQuest by
taking out some steps or simplifying the
requirements. In the wonderful world of
teaching, ideas are shared all around the nation.
So, as a future teacher, I want the visitors of
this WebQuest to feel free to use these ideas and
plans, as I have used some other teachers
ideas.
