Getting into uni or TAFE
  • Prerequisite studies
  • Many tertiary courses require you to complete
    specified VCE studies
  • Extra requirements
  • eg folios, interviews, auditions
  • Check the VTAC guide or the VTAC website
    http//www.vtac.edu.au/index.html

The ENTER calculation
  • Uses subject scores from
  • English
  • 3 next best study scores
  • 10 of 5th and 6th study scores
  • Uses VET scores where awarded
  • Then all students are ranked

The Primary Four

Bands
  • Upper band ENTER is high enough to guarantee
    entrance (about 80 of places)
  • Middle band the remaining 20, based on
    additional criteria
  • Lower band ENTER is too low

ENTER score

The Dreaded Scaling Issue
  • Yes study scores are adjusted (0-50, with 30
    being the middle)
  • No dont worry. No use getting a 5 bonus if
you scored 20 worse because the subject didnt
    suit you!

9
Maths LOTE
  • The study means of the harder maths (Specialist
and Methods) are adjusted upward if necessary so
they match that of Further Maths
  • All LOTES are adjusted upward by up to 5 points
